Objectives: (i) Support projects that demonstrate highly innovative, sufficiently developed technologies, processes or products with significant potential to reduce greenhouse gas emissions; (ii) offer financial support tailored to the market needs and risk profiles of eligible projects, while attracting additional public and private resources.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
The following activities can be financed:<\/p>\n
1. Activities that support innovation in low-carbon technologies and processes in sectors listed in Annex I of the EU ETS Directive, including environmentally safe carbon capture and use (CCU) that contributes substantially to mitigating climate change, as well as products that substitute carbon-intensive ones produced in sectors listed in Annex I of the EU ETS Directive;<\/p>\n
2. activities that help stimulate the construction and operation of projects targeting environmentally safe CO2 capture and geological storage (CCS)<\/p>\n
3. activities that help stimulate the construction and operation of innovative renewable energy and energy storage technologies.<\/p>\n

Typologies:<\/p>\n
To be eligible for funding under this call, applicants must be: (i) legal persons; (ii) belong to one of the following categories: private entities, public entities or international organisations; (iii) be directly responsible for the implementation and management of the project, where relevant, together with other applicants, i.e. not acting as an intermediary. The minimum number of applicants is one.<\/p>\n
