As part of Action C3.2 \u2018In-situ<\/em> conservation\u2019 of the LIFE IP AZORES NATURA project, coordinated by the Regional Secretariat for the Environment and Climate Action, a planting action was carried out at the Grota do Inferno Viewpoint in the Mata do Can\u00e1rio Forest Park, part of the Sete Cidades Protected Landscape Area on the island of S\u00e3o Miguel.<\/p>\n

In this intervention, 54 individuals of Chaerophyllum azoricum<\/em>, 38 individuals of Rumex azoricus<\/em> and 15 individuals of Hypericum foliosum<\/em> were introduced, in an initiative aimed at strengthening the populations of these native species – two of which (Chaerophyllum azoricum<\/em> and Rumex azoricus<\/em>) are protected under the Habitats Directive.<\/p>\n

This action represents a significant contribution to preserving biodiversity and recovering natural ecosystems, reinforcing the commitment to conserving the Region\u2019s endemic flora and priority habitats<\/em>.<\/p>\n
