The work to conserve native species continues to progress! This time, the action took place at Faj\u00e3 dos Cubres, on the island of S\u00e3o Jorge, where 928 individuals of native species were planted, produced by the Faial Botanic Garden under action C3.2 – In-situ<\/em> conservation of the LIFE IP AZORES NATURA project.<\/p>\n

The species reinforced were:<\/p>\n

– Myosotis maritima<\/em> – 87 plants<\/p>\n

– Crithmum maritimum<\/em> – 233 plants<\/p>\n

– Scabiosa nitens<\/em> – 68 plants<\/p>\n

– Lotus azoricus<\/em> – 138 plants<\/p>\n

– Euphorbia azorica<\/em> – 6 plants<\/p>\n

– Rumex azoricus<\/em> – 396 plants<\/p>\n

Before planting, the land was prepared by a team from the Environment and Climate Action Service on the island of S\u00e3o Jorge, ensuring ideal conditions for the intervention\u2019s success.<\/p>\n

The team will now monitor all the newly introduced plants to track their evolution in the field.<\/p>\n
