{"id":26465,"date":"2026-08-21T15:47:01","date_gmt":"2026-08-21T15:47:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.lifeazoresnatura.eu\/noticias\/three-new-populations-of-endemic-flora-discovered-on-the-island-of-sao-miguel\/"},"modified":"2026-08-21T15:47:01","modified_gmt":"2026-08-21T15:47:01","slug":"three-new-populations-of-endemic-flora-discovered-on-the-island-of-sao-miguel","status":"publish","type":"noticias","link":"https:\/\/www.lifeazoresnatura.eu\/en\/news\/three-new-populations-of-endemic-flora-discovered-on-the-island-of-sao-miguel\/","title":{"rendered":"Three new populations of endemic flora discovered on the island of S\u00e3o Miguel"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As part of the monitoring and survey activities of the LIFE IP AZORES NATURA project, coordinated by the Regional Secretariat for the Environment and Climate Action, three new populations of target species have recently been identified on the island of S\u00e3o Miguel, enhancing our understanding of their distribution and contributing to their conservation.&#13;\n&#13;\n<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The new records include a population of Azorean Dock (Rumex azoricus) and two of Ivy-leafed Fern (Asplenium hemionitis), both of which are priority species for the project. The population of Azorean Dock was discovered by Professor Lu\u00eds Silva of the University of the Azores, whilst Guilherme Roxo, a PhD student at the same institution, identified the populations of Ivy-leafed Fern.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The new population of Azorean Dock was recorded in Bretanha, on the coast of S\u00e3o Miguel.
