This species, endemic to the European continent, was registered for the first time in the vicinity of the Observatory \u201cRoque de los Muchachos\u201d (ORM) by Arnoldo Santos, a local botanist. Although the first specimens were only found recently, and despite the adverse climatic conditions in that area, the species has been able to survive and proliferate.
