{"id":4672,"date":"2021-04-06T09:09:49","date_gmt":"2021-04-06T09:09:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.lifeazoresnatura.eu\/?post_type=noticias&#038;p=4672"},"modified":"2021-04-05T16:48:34","modified_gmt":"2021-04-05T16:48:34","slug":"invasive-plant-species-control-in-ponta-do-castelo-santa-maria","status":"publish","type":"noticias","link":"https:\/\/www.lifeazoresnatura.eu\/en\/news\/invasive-plant-species-control-in-ponta-do-castelo-santa-maria\/","title":{"rendered":"Invasive plant species control in Ponta do Castelo, Santa Maria"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Within the scope of action C8.1 \u201cControl and eradication of invasive alien species (IAS) of flora in terrestrial habitats\u201d of the LIFE IP AZORES NATURA project, the Santa Maria Nature Park team is carrying out the removal of <em>Agave american<\/em>a and <em>Carpobrotus edulis<\/em> in the Special Area of Conservation (SAC) Ponta do Castelo. It is already evident that after the removal of <em>Carpobrotus edulis<\/em>, the endemic species <em>Euphorbia azorica<\/em> is sprouting in large quantities, which is encouraging news regarding the regeneration capacity of the intervened area and its occupation by endemic flora.<\/p>\n<p>To date, three interventions have been carried out, accounting for about 800 hours of work by a team of 8 operational assistants. Approximately 85 m\u00b3 of green waste has been sent to the waste processing centre, which is estimated to correspond to 10% of the total amount of green waste to be removed from the site.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":4,"featured_media":4662,"template":"","class_list":["post-4672","noticias","type-noticias","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.3 -
