{"id":6486,"date":"2022-05-06T16:38:53","date_gmt":"2022-05-06T16:38:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.lifeazoresnatura.eu\/?post_type=noticias&#038;p=6486"},"modified":"2022-05-06T16:38:53","modified_gmt":"2022-05-06T16:38:53","slug":"bird-callers-and-shelters-for-terns-installed-on-azorean-islets","status":"publish","type":"noticias","link":"https:\/\/www.lifeazoresnatura.eu\/en\/news\/bird-callers-and-shelters-for-terns-installed-on-azorean-islets\/","title":{"rendered":"Bird callers and shelters for terns installed on Azorean islets"},"content":{"rendered":"<div dir=\"auto\">At the beginning of the terns\u2019 reproduction season, the Regional Secretariat for the Environment and Climate Change, through the LIFE IP AZORES NATURA project, is installing 17 bird callers and 60 shelters on several islets of the Archipelago, namely on the Ilh\u00e9u da Praia and Ilh\u00e9u de Baixo on Graciosa, the Ilh\u00e9u da Vila on Santa Maria and the Ilh\u00e9u do Topo on S\u00e3o Jorge.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">This installation is part of the conservation action C6.1 \u2013 Restoring islet seabirds\u2019 habitat \u2013 and of the communication and dissemination action E3 \u2013 Networking with other LIFE and\/or non-LIFE Projects \u2013 and had the support of the partners: SPEA \u2013 Portuguese Society for the Study of Birds, which assembled a sound system to reproduce the singing of the seabirds on areas where are the bird callers, thus increasing the occupation rate of the bird shelters; and LIFE ROSATE TERN project from the United Kingdom, with whom contact was established for an exchange of knowledge on the methods utilized for the bird callers\u2019 manufacturing.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">The Regional Secretariat for the Environment and Climate Change committed itself to the implementation of these shelters, as they play a fundamental role in protecting the broods from the weather and predation by the Yellow-legged Gull (\ud835\ude13\ud835\ude22\ud835\ude33\ud835\ude36\ud835\ude34 \ud835\ude2e\ud835\ude2a\ud835\ude24\ud835\ude29\ud835\ude22\ud835\ude29\ud835\ude26\ud835\ude2d\ud835\ude2d\ud835\ude2a\ud835\ude34 \ud835\ude22\ud835\ude35\ud835\ude2d\ud835\ude22\ud835\ude2f\ud835\ude35\ud835\ude2a\ud835\ude34) and the Azores Common Starling (\ud835\ude1a\ud835\ude35\ud835\ude36\ud835\ude33\ud835\ude2f\ud835\ude36\ud835\ude34 \ud835\ude37\ud835\ude36\ud835\ude2d\ud835\ude28\ud835\ude22\ud835\ude33\ud835\ude2a\ud835\ude34 \ud835\ude28\ud835\ude33\ud835\ude22\ud835\ude2f\ud835\ude35\ud835\ude2a).<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">With the financial support of the LIFE Programme of the European Union.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">RN 2000<\/div>\n","protected":false},"author":4,"featured_media":6483,"template":"","class_list":["post-6486","noticias","type-noticias","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.3 -
