As part of action C3.2 \u2013 In-situ<\/em> conservation of the LIFE IP AZORES NATURA project, a team of operatives, technicians and park rangers from the S\u00e3o Miguel Environment and Climate Change Service planted around 180 specimens of native species (Chaerophyllum azoricum<\/em>, Angelica lignescens<\/em>, Calluna vulgaris<\/em>, Hypericum foliosum<\/em> and Leontodon rigens<\/em>) in Grota do Inferno, some of which are protected by the Habitats Directive.<\/p>\n

Initial control of invasive alien species has been carried out in this area, which will be followed by an action to remove outbreaks of invasive species that are still present to prevent their spread and ensure the success of this plantation.<\/p>\n

All the individuals have been marked so that the survival and growth of the plants can be monitored.<\/p>\n
