At the end of August, students and teachers from the University of Plymouth in the United Kingdom were on the island of S\u00e3o Miguel to take part in a volunteering activity at Pico do Carv\u00e3o. This activity, carried out by the LIFE IP AZORES NATURA project in collaboration with the S\u00e3o Miguel Environment and Climate Change Service, consisted of removing around 2.5 tonnes of one of the invasive species with the most threatening impact on the island of S\u00e3o Miguel, the Chilean Rhubarb (Gunnera tinctoria<\/em>).<\/p>\n
