{"id":9572,"date":"2024-11-25T11:11:40","date_gmt":"2024-11-25T11:11:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.lifeazoresnatura.eu\/?post_type=noticias&#038;p=9572"},"modified":"2024-11-25T11:12:55","modified_gmt":"2024-11-25T11:12:55","slug":"conservation-work-at-ponta-branca","status":"publish","type":"noticias","link":"https:\/\/www.lifeazoresnatura.eu\/en\/news\/conservation-work-at-ponta-branca\/","title":{"rendered":"Conservation work at Ponta Branca"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Last September, conservation work was carried out at Ponta Branca on the island of Graciosa:<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; 61 <em>Metrosideros excelsa<\/em> trees, 40 Sweet Pittosporum trees (<em>Pittosporum undulatum<\/em>), Elmleaf Blackberry and Common Bracken were removed in an area densely covered with native species;<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Invasive herbaceous species were carefully cut down to protect the endemic species on the site;<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Seeds of Azorean Bishopsweed (<em>Ammi trifoliatum<\/em>), Azorean St. John&#8217;s Wort (<em>Hypericum foliosum<\/em>), African Boxwood (<em>Myrsine retusa<\/em>) and Azorean Crowberry (<em>Corema album <\/em>ssp. <em>azoricum<\/em>) were collected.
