In 2018, the LIFE VIDALIA project began with the aim of improving the conservation status of two endemic species: the Azorean Bellflower (Azorina vidalii<\/em>) and the Azorean Lotus (Lotus azoricus<\/em>), both listed in Annex B-II of the Habitats Directive and considered priority for conservation on three of the nine islands of the Azores: Faial, Pico and S\u00e3o Jorge.<\/p>\n

With the end of this project in 2023, the need to continue the work and the results obtained over the five years of implementation appeared. LIFE IP AZORES NATURA has, therefore, taken on the responsibility of continuing to implement some of the actions.<\/p>\n

Recently, on the island of Pico, the LIFE IP AZORES NATURA project, in collaboration with the Park Rangers of the Pico Environment and Climate Action Service, carried out the maintenance of some rodent traps, namely by replacing baits, CO2 canisters and batteries.<\/p>\n

This type of action is provided for in LIFE VIDALIA’s \u2018After-LIFE Plan\u2019, in which the LIFE IP AZORES NATURA project guarantees maintenance work on equipment and conservation areas.<\/p>\n
