The period for submitting applications for the promotion of EU agri-food products – 2022 campaign is open until 21 April. For 2022, a total of €185.9 million has been allocated for the promotion of EU agri-food products inside and outside the EU. As in 2021, the 2022 promotion policy work programme focuses on products and farming practices that support the objectives of the European Green Pact, such as EU organic products, fruit and vegetables, sustainable agriculture and animal welfare. The promotion policy will co-finance campaigns in line with the ambitions of the European Green Pact, supporting the objectives of the Dish to Plate Strategy, the European Cancer Plan, the Action Plan for the Development of Organic Farming in the EU and the Commission Communication on the European Citizens’ Initiative “Cage-free”. The campaigns should inform European and global consumers about organic farming, sustainable EU agriculture, and the agri-food sector’s contribution to climate and environmental action. Within the EU, the campaigns will also promote healthy eating and balanced diets by increasing the consumption of fresh fruit and vegetables.
