The Regional Secretariat for the Sea and Fisheries, through the Regional Directorate for Fisheries, announces the publication of NOTICE NO. 02/C10-i05-RAA/2024 regarding the Incentive System for Energy Transition, Digitalization, and Reduction of Environmental Impact in the Fisheries and Aquaculture Sector.
This system, integrated into the investment TC-C10-i05-RAA under the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR), has a total allocation of five million euros to support initiatives aimed at promoting modernization, innovation, and sustainability in the fisheries and aquaculture sectors in the Azores.
Eligible operations include:
- Modernization and renewal of the fishing fleet,
- Innovation in the fisheries and aquaculture sectors to enhance energy performance,
- Process modernization,
- Reduction of marine waste production, and
- Promotion of circular economy practices.
The system is open to applications from:
- Owners or operators of fishing vessels registered at ports in the Autonomous Region of the Azores,
- Operators in the processing and marketing of fishery and aquaculture products,
- Fishermen’s organizations, including producer organizations,
- Aquaculture companies, and
- Public companies with responsibilities and duties in fisheries sector administration.
This incentive system reinforces the commitment to sustainability and resilience in the sector by promoting fleet modernization, energy efficiency, waste reduction, and circular economy practices, aligning with the strategic goals of the PRR and the needs of the fisheries and aquaculture sectors in the Autonomous Region of the Azores.

The application submission period runs from Tuesday, January 14, until 5:00 PM on April 30.
