INNOVATION FUND (INNOVFUND): CALL FOR PROPOSALS

Objectives: (i) Support projects that demonstrate highly innovative, sufficiently developed technologies, processes or products with significant potential to reduce greenhouse gas emissions; (ii) offer financial support tailored to the market needs and risk profiles of eligible projects, while attracting additional public and private resources.

 

The following activities can be financed:

1. Activities that support innovation in low-carbon technologies and processes in sectors listed in Annex I of the EU ETS Directive, including environmentally safe carbon capture and use (CCU) that contributes substantially to mitigating climate change, as well as products that substitute carbon-intensive ones produced in sectors listed in Annex I of the EU ETS Directive;

2. activities that help stimulate the construction and operation of projects targeting environmentally safe CO2 capture and geological storage (CCS)

3. activities that help stimulate the construction and operation of innovative renewable energy and energy storage technologies.

 

Typologies:

To be eligible for funding under this call, applicants must be: (i) legal persons; (ii) belong to one of the following categories: private entities, public entities or international organisations; (iii) be directly responsible for the implementation and management of the project, where relevant, together with other applicants, i.e. not acting as an intermediary. The minimum number of applicants is one.
