The European Commission has opened applications (https://ec.europa.eu/commission/presscorner/detail/pt/ip_25_251) for two awards that highlight innovation and creativity inspired by the New European Bauhaus (NEB): the fifth edition of the New European Bauhaus Prizes and the new initiative of the New European Bauhaus Boost for small municipalities.
These are two projects with different objectives within the promotion of creativity and innovation at the urban level. The NEB Prizes will recognize outstanding projects and ideas from individuals, teams, and organizations, while the New European Bauhaus Boost seeks to support small municipalities, helping smaller local governments carry out transformative projects with strong community involvement.
Throughout this competition, visionaries and change-makers from across Europe are invited to submit innovative projects and ideas that rethink how we live and interact with the environment. The 2025 NEB Prizes edition will have a special focus on housing, with the creation of a new category called the “New European Bauhaus Affordable Housing Prizes”.
After receiving over 5,000 applications in previous editions, the New European Bauhaus Prizes this year will recognize 22 innovative projects and concepts promoting sustainability, aesthetics, and inclusivity. The 2025 New European Bauhaus Prizes, part of cohesion policy, will be awarded to 22 winners and runners-up in total, who will receive a monetary award of up to €30,000, as well as a communication package to help them develop and promote their projects.
The deadline for applications to the NEB Prizes and the New European Bauhaus Boost opened on January 14 and will close on February 14, 2025, at 19:00 (Central European Time).
Applications should be submitted via the Official New European Bauhaus Prizes Platform: https://prizes.new-european-bauhaus.europa.eu/?etrans=pt
