The Regional Secretariat for the Environment and Climate Action is celebrating the 29th edition of International Bat Night with a set of regional activities taking place between August 29 and September 3. Some of these activities will be open to the public, thereby broadening the scope of the celebrations.
There will be an opportunity to observe the only endemic mammal of the Archipelago, the Azorean bat (Nyctalus azoreum), as well as to hear and interpret the sounds it emits using an ultrasound detector.
