During March, as part of the LIFE IP AZORES NATURA project, coordinated by the Regional Secretariat for the Environment and Climate Action, an internal training course (Action C2.1) was held, which involved two Park Rangers from the Santa Maria Environment and Climate Action Service (SAAC Santa Maria) travelling to the Faial Botanic Garden.
The main objective was to share experiences and knowledge about seed treatment techniques and the propagation of native herbaceous plants in the Azores, intending to apply these methodologies in practice on the island of Santa Maria.
The SAAC Santa Maria’s Park Rangers had the opportunity to learn directly from the technical teams from Faial, reinforcing their training and contributing to local autonomy and capacity building. This action complements the work carried out over the last year, namely the investment in installing a greenhouse and a small nursery on the island of Santa Maria.
