Ends 31/01/2023
Closed Fund

On October 31, applications were opened for the selection process of local action groups which, under the Mar 2030 programme and in the period 2021-2027, will be responsible for the implementation of Local Development Strategies (EDL) of the Fishing and Aquaculture Communities.

These coastal community development initiatives amount to EUR 48 million. Of this amount, EUR 33.75 million comes from the European Maritime, Fisheries and Aquaculture Fund (EMFF) and brings together various entities with close links to the social, economic and institutional fabric of each territory.

This call for tenders and selection process is intended for the qualification of partnerships, with the respective recognition of local action groups, the determination of the amounts to be allocated to their operating costs, their territories of operation, as well as the approval of local development strategies, with their financial endowment.

Applications are submitted on electronic media through the Funds Desk in https://balcaofundosue.pt and are open until 31 January 2023.

Mar 2030 Program

The Mar 2030 programme will operationalize the support of the EMAMPA in Portugal, aiming, among other objectives, to promote a more sustainable economy in coastal, island and inland regions, as well as to foster the development of fishing and aquaculture communities.

It should be reported that under the Mar 2020 OP, 12 Local Fisheries Action Groups on the Continent and three in the Autonomous Region of the Azores have been approved, which bring together several fishing communities.

There is already a set of local entities and actors, with accumulated experience in the development and implementation of local development strategies.

The Mar 2030 program aims to continue this relevant work of the various agents of the territory and civil society, strongly committed to sustainable development goals, fostering modernity and technological innovation for their communities.
