In September, staff from AMT Consulting took part in a voluntary initiative to remove the invasive alien species Gunnera tinctoria, known as Chilean Rhubarb, in the Pico do Carvão area on the island of São Miguel.
Organised by the LIFE IP AZORES NATURA project, this initiative contributed directly to the protection of natural habitats and the conservation of the Azores’ natural heritage. The initiative also benefited from the collaboration of the São Miguel Island Environment and Climate Action Service.
We thank AMT Consulting and all participants for the willingness, commitment, and spirit of collaboration demonstrated throughout the activity.
The involvement of society and the business sector is essential to strengthen nature conservation efforts and contribute to a more sustainable future for the Azores. With the financial support of the LIFE Programme of the European Union.
