The updated technical report on the programme for monitoring voluntary coastal and underwater clean-up campaigns in the Azores is now available. The programme forms part of the Action Plan for Marine Litter in the Azores (PALMA) and is aligned with the Marine Strategy Framework Directive and OSPAR.

- 14,036 volunteers mobilised
- 115,744 kg of waste collected
- Focus for 2025: 91 actions | 1,968 volunteers | 11,313 kg
The report highlights the importance of consistent records and the usefulness of the data for identifying hotspots, guiding interventions, and supporting prevention and mitigation measures.
