The mechanical removal of invasive species, namely 𝘏𝘦𝘥𝘺𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘶𝘮 𝘨𝘢𝘳𝘥𝘯𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘢𝘯𝘶𝘮 and 𝘙𝘶𝘣𝘶𝘴 𝘶𝘭𝘮𝘪𝘧𝘰𝘭𝘪𝘶𝘴, that were in the Ponta Branca zone, on Graciosa, allowed the natural regeneration of the only population of the endemic species 𝘈𝘮𝘮𝘪 𝘵𝘳𝘪𝘧𝘰𝘭𝘪𝘢𝘵𝘶𝘮 of the island.

Carried out by the Graciosa Environment and Climate Change Service, within the scope of the LIFE IP AZORES NATURA project, this and other future interventions in this area will allow the species 𝘈𝘮𝘮𝘪 𝘵𝘳𝘪𝘧𝘰𝘭𝘪𝘢𝘵𝘶𝘮 to develop without the threats of the invasive species that compete for resources and space.
