The mechanical removal of invasive species, namely ๐˜๐˜ฆ๐˜ฅ๐˜บ๐˜ค๐˜ฉ๐˜ช๐˜ถ๐˜ฎ ๐˜จ๐˜ข๐˜ณ๐˜ฅ๐˜ฏ๐˜ฆ๐˜ณ๐˜ช๐˜ข๐˜ฏ๐˜ถ๐˜ฎ and ๐˜™๐˜ถ๐˜ฃ๐˜ถ๐˜ด ๐˜ถ๐˜ญ๐˜ฎ๐˜ช๐˜ง๐˜ฐ๐˜ญ๐˜ช๐˜ถ๐˜ด, that were in the Ponta Branca zone, on Graciosa, allowed the natural regeneration of the only population of the endemic species ๐˜ˆ๐˜ฎ๐˜ฎ๐˜ช ๐˜ต๐˜ณ๐˜ช๐˜ง๐˜ฐ๐˜ญ๐˜ช๐˜ข๐˜ต๐˜ถ๐˜ฎ of the island.
Carried out by the Graciosa Environment and Climate Change Service, within the scope of the LIFE IP AZORES NATURA project, this and other future interventions in this area will allow the species ๐˜ˆ๐˜ฎ๐˜ฎ๐˜ช ๐˜ต๐˜ณ๐˜ช๐˜ง๐˜ฐ๐˜ญ๐˜ช๐˜ข๐˜ต๐˜ถ๐˜ฎ to develop without the threats of the invasive species that compete for resources and space.
