In May, the LIFE IP AZORES NATURA project, coordinated by the Regional Secretariat for the Environment and Climate Action, visited the Escola Básica Integrada da Maia to conduct a Bioblitz with the students of that institution.

During the activity, students had the opportunity to use the iNaturalist mobile application, identifying endemic and invasive species and thus contributing to the citizen science project developed by LIFE IP AZORES NATURA on this platform. This initiative was an excellent opportunity to showcase the Azores’ biodiversity and raise participants’ awareness of the risks posed by the introduction and spread of invasive alien species.
