Following the statutory visit of the Regional Government of the Azores to the island of Corvo, the LIFE IP AZORES NATURA’s game Dobble Invasoras was presented, in the presence of the President of the Government, José Manuel Bolieiro, the Secretary for Education, Sofia Ribeiro, and the Secretary for Environment, Alonso Miguel, as well as the LIFE IP AZORES NATURA project manager, Diana Pereira.
This fun card game aims to raise awareness on the issue of invasive alien species to children of the primary schools in the Region and is available in the educational offer of the Regional Secretariat for the Environment and Climate Change.
The game aims to challenge participants to identify the invasive species of flora and fauna that occur in the Azores. They will have the opportunity to learn the main characteristics and propagation methods of these species and understand that their presence is one of the main threats to biodiversity in the Archipelago.
This game was created under actions C11– Rapid Response Operational Frameworks for IAS and E4 – Environmental Education Program of the LIFE IP AZORES NATURA project, which is coordinated by the Regional Secretariat for the Environment and Climate Change.
