A group of technicians from the Regional Directorate of Maritime Policies participated, on November 24, in an internal training action (action C2.1), promoted by Okeanos – Research Institute in Marine Sciences of the University of the Azores. In this Workshop, several seabird dissection techniques were demonstrated and executed, in order to train the team in monitoring the ingestion of marine debris in these species, thus seeking to improve the collection of information that can be obtained from the strandings of marine animals in the region.
This action is part of the LIFE IP Azores Natura project, which supports the current restructuring process of the Azores Network of Marine Animal Strandings (RACA) (Action C9T1).
