– Removal of exotic and invasive species, such as Hedychium gardnerianum, Ulex europaeus and Rubus ulmifolius;
– Standing death of large patches of eucalypt with biomass removal where possible, minimizing damage to the native forest undergrowth;
– Planting of native species, such as Juniperus brevifolia, Laurus azorica, Prunus lusitanica subsp. azorica, Ilex perado subsp. azorica, Vaccinium cylindraceum, Frangula azorica, and Morella faya, among others;
– Reintroduction of herbaceous species typical for this type of wetland ecosystem.
